what's in a name?
imara, the word, is one of those Swahili words with so many nuances that it is impossible to translate with a single word equivalent in English. It is literary a sentence of its own depending on where and how it is being used.
imara can loosely translate to one of these or all of them: steady, rigid, with strong foundation, indispensable, immutable, lasting, firm, well-established, unshakeable, indelible, ineradicable, enduring, persisting, surviving, fixed, durable, permanent, stable, steadfast... you get the gist! 😂
It is because of this layered and complex meaning that I name the collective of the things that I create, and I myself try to be, imara.
