A dress and a meal for one

a life update | on making things

Before you say anything or think anything... I know I am trash! A whole week of silence and I still don't post on time! 😂

Well, I am here now and that is all that matters!

Let me begin by saying, life has and is proving to be more demanding than I anticipated. I've been occupied with so many things yo! A typical day goes something like: wake up, study, breakfast, commute to school, classes back to back, eat, commute to internship, work until 5, evening class or meeting, dinner, read, sleep. Hence my change of posting schedule. I need to make time for actually creating the content I post. While I was able to previously do so on Thursdays and Sundays, now I use those days for content creation and will be posting the next day (Fridays and Mondays) instead.

On top of all this, I have been also trying to do adult things like filing taxes, applying for summer internships and reapplying for a visa (I feel like I am always applying for a visa 😂). So, all in all, it's been a rough start to March.

Yet I somehow managed to make this dress and a top last week.

Plus, I managed to make a Friday breakfast spread as well as go out dancing on Friday, to an evening meal with the East African Society at UCT on Saturday and brunch with a friend on Sunday. Don't get me wrong, these were done successfully but I am definitely feeling the pain at the moment. I am most definitely sleep deprived, stressed because I am playing catch up with all the readings I didn't get to this weekend and I have 3 papers and a presentation to submit this week.

The point in me saying all this is not to complain or stress you with my stress but to be honest in my engagements with you. I love sharing happy pictures of me and most definitely of what I get up to but that does not mean I have mastered the art of living. In fact, quite the contrary, I am absolutely still figuring it out and so, some weeks I win, some I lose. Thank you for baring with me when I can't show up for you here or on social media. I appreciate those who inquire where I is when I fall off the radar 😘

I hope you have a great week and come back for a new post on Friday.

Much love 😘

Love, this is a life, not a lifestyle blog. You’ll find here tales of my clothes making, intentional living, chai drinking, feminist thinking Afrikan life. Welcome, and read on.
